Horsegram Sesame Chutney

Horsegram sesame chutney is an amazing chutney which is easy to make yet is highly nutritious. It is very interesting dip to be served along with your snacks or sautee vegetables.

Nutritional benefits –

Sesame seeds are rich source of fiber and therefore plays a role in reducing the risk of heart diseases, type 2 diabetes, obesity and certain cancers. It consists of MUFA and PUFA which can lower down your cholesterol and triglycerides level.

Ingredients –

  • 20 grams of Horsegram
  • 10 grams of channa dal
  • 5 grams of sesame seeds
  • 5 grams of toor dal
  • 1-2 Green chillies
  • 20 grams onion
  • 1 spring curry leaves
  • 1-2 garlic clove
  • 5 grams grated coconut
  • 1 teaspoon jeera powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice
  • Salt and pepper as per taste

Method –

  • Firstly Dry roast horsegram and sesame seeds separately until their color changes.
  • Take a sauce pan and heat some oil.
  • Add channa dal, toor dal to it and allow them to cook until brown color is obtained.
  • Add onion, garlic, green chilies and curry leaves into it and cook for few minutes.
  • Then add horsegram, sesame seeds, prepared dal paste, grated coconut, lime juice and the spices into a blender.
  • Blend to form a fine paste. Your Horsegram sesame chutney is ready.
