Oats Laddoo

Oats Laddoo is a nutritious and quick-to-make Indian sweet that brings together the wholesome goodness of oats, nuts, and dried fruits. The roasted oats and coconut give the laddoos a delightful nutty flavor, while the mashed banana adds natural sweetness and moisture. These laddoos are not only a great snack but also a healthy dessert option, offering a perfect blend of taste and nutrition. Ideal for those looking for a guilt-free sweet treat, these laddoos can be enjoyed by both kids and adults alike.

For a Serving Size of Two:

Ingredients:

  • 60 grams rolled oats
  • 20 grams desiccated coconut
  • 1 tablespoon ghee
  • 20 grams roasted coarsely ground peanuts or almonds
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 2 tablespoons mashed ripe banana
  • 15 grams chopped dried fruits (such as raisins, figs, or apricots)

Procedure:

  • Heat a pan on low flame and dry roast the rolled oats until they turn slightly golden and aromatic. This should take about 4-5 minutes. Once done, let them cool and then grind them into a coarse powder.
  • In the same pan, lightly roast the desiccated coconut for 2-3 minutes until it turns golden. Set aside.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the ground oats, roasted desiccated coconut, and ground peanuts or almonds.
  • In the same pan, melt the ghee. Add the mashed banana and sauté for 2-3 minutes until it becomes slightly thick.
  • Add the dry ingredients into the pan with the banana and mix well until you get a dough-like consistency.
  • If the mixture feels too dry, you can add a bit more ghee.
  • Let it cool slightly, then take small portions and roll them into laddoos.
  • Press a few chopped dried fruits into each laddoo, adding texture and natural sweetness.
  • Allow the laddoos to cool completely before storing them in an airtight container.

Nutritional Benefits:

  • Oats Laddoo is a rich source of fiber, due to the rolled oats, which help in maintaining digestive health and providing long-lasting energy.
