Rava Laddoo is a traditional Indian sweet made from roasted rava (semolina), ghee, and coconut. This recipe blends the nutty flavor of roasted rava with the rich taste of ghee and the sweetness of grated coconut and cardamom. Shaped into small laddoos, these treats are perfect for festive occasions.
For a Serving Size of Two:
Ingredients:
- 60 grams rava
- 1 tablespoon ghee
- 20 grams grated coconut
- 30 grams chopped nuts (cashews, almonds)
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
- A pinch of salt
- 2 tablespoons milk
Procedure:
- Heat the ghee in a pan over medium heat.
- Add the rava and roast it, stirring continuously, until it turns golden brown and gives a nutty aroma.
- Stir in the grated coconut and chopped nuts. Continue to roast for a few minutes until the coconut is lightly toasted.
- Add cardamom powder and a pinch of salt. Mix well. Gradually add milk, a little at a time, while stirring the mixture until it starts to come together. The mixture should be moist but not too wet.
- Let the mixture cool slightly. Once it’s manageable, take small portions and shape them into laddoos with your hands.
- Allow the laddoos to cool completely before serving.
