Ragi Rava Dhokla

The Instant Ragi Rava Dhokla Recipe is a healthy preparation of the traditional sooji dhokla that is made with just semolina and get its flavours and delicious textures from the sesame and mustard seasoning.

Nutritional Benefits:
Semolina is an excellent source of vital minerals and nutrients such as protein, vitamin B complex, fibre and zero fat.

Ingredients:

  • 30 grams Sooji, fine semolina
  • 30 grams ragi flour
  • 50 grams curd
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon Sunflower Oil
  • 1 sprig Curry leaf, finely chopped
  • ½ teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • ¼ teaspoon Sesame seeds
  • 2 sprig Coriander Leaves, finely chopped
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  • To begin making the Dhokla Recipe, prepare a steamer filled with water and grease the dhokla plates Keep aside.
  • Combine the ragi flour, semolina, yogurt and a little salt in a large mixing bowl. Pour in some water at a time to make a thick instant dhokla batter.
  • Allow the Dhokla batter to rest for 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the baking soda and pour the dhokla batter into the greased dhokla plates.
  • Preheat a steamer with water and place the Dhokla for steaming. Steam on high heat for about 10 minutes until a tester inserted in the centre comes out clean.
  • Once steamed, remove Dhokla from the steamer and keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan; add in the mustard seeds, sesame seeds and curry leaves and allow it to crackle.
  • Turn off heat and pour the seasoning over the Dhokla Recipe and cut them into squares or diamonds.
  • Serve the Instant Ragi Rava Dhokla Recipe along with Green Chutney .
