Since a 21 days lockdown has been imposed across the country, we haven’t left our homes because the outside world poses the threat of us coming in contact with the novel coronavirus. With the rapid increase in the number of cases, the government is getting more rigid and strict with its laws and guidelines. Several parts of the country have been identified as hotspot regions for COVID-19. These areas have been sealed until further notice to curb the virus from spreading any further. Only government personnel are authorized to access these areas and people aren’t allowed to leave their houses.
Our lives are now confined to our homes and no contact can be made with the outside world. The severity of this pandemic doesn’t seem to decline any soon and we have to continue living in the four walls of our house for quite some time now. While many of us are finding new ways to make this isolation productive, some of us are struggling to adapt to this drastic change. Here are some fun activities you can enjoy during this quarantine period to make it more productive:
- Talking to your old friends and loved ones is going to brighten up your mood. It will take off the stress and workload from your mind and make you feel better and happy.
- Refrain from reading the news every now then. This becomes extremely crucial because the news that is being catered to us is depressing. It tends to make people more anxious and restless.
- Play board games or design your own personalized board game. Take out that carrom board that has been lying in a corner of the house.
- Sit down for meals and eat them with your family. This is an ideal time to catch up with your family. Cook and eat together and establish a positive environment in the house.
- Take up online courses. Several organizations are giving free access to their reading material during this quarantine period. Read those articles or search for online courses that are taking place.
- Reduce your social media hours and use that time to practice yoga or meditation. In our busy schedule, we would never have time to meditate. Practice doing meditation for 30 mins every day to relax your body, brain, and muscles.
- Grow some plants in your house and take care of them. This is a very common de-stressing activity and an effective relaxation method.

This situation can create panic and stress among people, making it difficult for them to deal with this problem. Remember taking one step at a time. A small effort is also an effort. Don’t be hard yourself. Take up tasks and do them at your own comfort and pace.
