Khus Serbat

Hydration is the key when it comes to surviving summer months. Khus serbat is a one of those cooling and refreshing summer drink that is made from dried khus grass without any synthetic colour and preservatives.
NUTRITIONAL BENEFITS: Khus is an excellent source of iron, manganese and Vitamin B6. Due to its cooling properties it reduces excessive thirst and prevents dehydration.
INGREDIENTS:
- 20 grams khus grass
- 500 ml water
- 5 grams coconut sugar

METHOD:
- Remove the roots from the grass, chop the grass and soak it for 12 hours in water
- Strain through a juice strainer and collect the extract.
- Add sugar to the extract and stir.
- Keep the khus extract on the stove and keep on stirring until sugar dissolves and syrup becomes sticky.
- Filter the hot syrup in a clean jar or a bowl
- Cover the lid immediately and let it cool at room temperature.
- Once cooled, refrigerate the khus syrup
- Dissolve 1/3 or ¼ syrup with water and voila khus serbat is ready to drink.
