Green Papaya Chicken Stew

Chicken lovers have got a new recipe to relish their cravings twice the amount as before. This green papaya chicken stew along with cooked rice is extremely delicious and healthy. The protein-rich chicken and rice make the stomach full and have a great taste.

Nutritional benefits:

Chicken is a great source of protein that is good for development and muscle growth. The amino acid, tryptophan in chicken boosts the serotonin levels of the brain and makes it a comforting food. Green papaya is good in antioxidants and good in fiber and vitamin C that helps to fight off heart diseases. It is also good for digestive issues.

Ingredients:

  • 50 grams chicken
  • 10 grams potato
  • 15 grams green papaya
  • 10 grams carrot
  • 1-2 garlic clove
  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 1-2 green chilli
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper powder
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 10 grams onion
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1 teaspoon of mustard oil

Method:

  • Take some chicken, clean properly and rub it with salt, turmeric and mustard oil and allow it to sit for 20 minutes.
  • Take a handi and add in some mustard oil and fry some cumin seeds, clove, onion, garlic and ginger paste for a couple of minutes.
  • Add in the chicken pieces and fry very lightly, then add in the remaining veggies, green chilli, bay leaf and salt. Fry the mixture for a few minutes and add some water.
  • Close the lid and cook for 30 minutes and after that add some more water and seasonings.
  • Serve along with rice and some chopped onions or green chutney.
