Lauki is not relished by everyone so here we bring you this interesting bottle gourd cheela recipe which is a low-calorie simple recipe made with bottle gourd and curd. They are also low in protein and can be well tolerated by kidney disease patients.

Bottle gourd is low calorie and is good source of fibre. It also contains essential nutrients like Vitamin C Vitamin B, Vitamin K, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Iron, Folate, and Manganese.

  • 50 grams bottle gourd (grated)
  • 15 grams whole wheat flour
  • 10 grams curd
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper as per taste


  • Firstly, take a bowl and add whole wheat flour and grated bottle gourd into it.
  • To this mixture add curd and salt followed by water to make a thick batter like chila. Mix well.
  • Now, heat non-stick pan and apply oil. Pour a ladle full of batter and spread it evenly.
  • Roast until it turns golden brown from both the sides.
  • Transfer the bottle gourd chila. to the serving plate. Serve hot.
