Natural Glutathione Vs Intravenous Glutathione

Antioxidants are requisite in the effective functioning of the human body. Without getting enough antioxidants, your body will be incapable to fight off foreign substances, making you prone to develop diseases. Supplying your body with foods and beverages rich in antioxidant properties is, therefore, a necessity. Glutathione is the body’s most vital antioxidant. The major role carried out by antioxidants is to fight off harmful molecules known as free radicals and reduce the oxidative stress in the body.

Glutathione is produced by the liver in the body and made up of namely three amino acids: glutamine, cysteine, and glycine.
The health benefits offered by glutathione are:

  • Detoxification
  • Aging defense
  • Boosts the immune system
  • Reduces cell damage
  • Diabetes
  • Alzheimer’s disease
  • Parkinson’s disease

The quantity and quality of glutathione declines with age. Glutathione can be taken by mouth or it can be injected in the body through an IV drip. Both of these methods serve different purposes.

Natural Glutathione
Providing glutathione to the body through fruits, vegetables, plants, and animals is a natural method of extracting glutathione. A low level of glutathione in the body can result due to poor diet, infections or chronic stress. Sulfur is required for the synthesis of glutathione. Eating sulfur-rich foods can improve the quality of glutathione in the body. Beef, poultry, fish, broccoli, cauliflower, onion, grains, kale, and garlic are some foods that are a good source of sulfur.

Vitamin C is also an essential vitamin found in the body. It enhances the supply of antioxidants, including glutathione. Taking vitamin C supplements can boost the glutathione levels in your body.

Foods that are rich in glutathione itself are avocados, okra, and spinach. Glutathione consumed through food items is not well-absorbed by the body. But it is seen that eating glutathione rich food can reduce oxidative stress.

Intravenous Glutathione
In an IV Glutathione therapy, glutathione is directly injected in your body, which travels to the bloodstream to increase the levels of antioxidants in your body. Intravenous glutathione is a safe and effective method with nearly no side effects. It is mostly used to treat Parkinson’s disease (a nervous system disorder that restricts movement)

Doctors might also use IV glutathione to treat anemia in kidney patients, improving blood flow in the body and to treat diabetic patients. In some cases, intravenous glutathione can also be used to prevent the side effects of chemotherapy.

People use an IV Glutathione treatment for skin lightening. As of now, no studies have proven the effectiveness of this approach.

Injecting an IV drip of glutathione directly in your veins is a significantly better and effective approach to increase the amount of glutathione in your body as compared to other methods.

Footnote
Deficiency of glutathione can lead to frequent bacterial infections, anemia, seizures, and difficulty in movement. Increase the level of glutathione in your body to combat diseases and lead a healthy life.
