B-town Actress Malaika Arora Is Motivating Her Fans to Start the Week Strong

Yoga is one of the significant ancient ways to make yourself fit and healthy. The moves and stretches involved in the yoga asanas can provide plenty of health benefits along with great mental well-being.

The actress nailed the Naukasana (boat pose) in her latest Instagram post and urged everyone to stay at home and try this asana to start the week rightly. She wrote “Namaste Everyone! Hope everyone had a great weekend staying at home and trying out something new. Here’s #MalaikasMoveOfTheWeek to start your week strong. This week’s pose is Naukasana (Boat Pose).”

Naukasana aka boat pose is really great to tone and strengthen the abdominal and core muscles. Moreover, this pose also helps with improving self-confidence, building willpower and self-control. Performing this asana regularly can strengthen the muscles of the arms, thighs and shoulders.

How to do it:

  • Start by sitting on the mat, knees to be bent and feet flat on the floor.
  • Lift your feet and let your knees stay bent for now.
  • While your upper body will naturally fall back, try to keep your back straight.
  • Straighten your legs to a 45-degree angle. Your upper body should be as straight as possible, forming a V shape with the legs.
  • Straighten your arms in such a way that they are parallel to the floor.
  • Try to balance on the sit bones as much as you can.
  • Stay for a minimum of 5 breaths.
  • Release your legs while exhaling and then sit up,” Malaika summed up the steps to perform this asana in her latest Instagram post.
