Zucchini Flakes

Zucchini Flakes are a light and crispy snack made from thinly sliced zucchini seasoned with olive oil, sea salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Slowly baked until crisp, these flakes make for a delightful and healthy alternative to regular chips.

For a Serving Size of Two:

Ingredients:

  • 200 grams zucchini
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Procedure:

  • Preheat your oven to 110°C (230°F) to dry out the zucchini.
  • Wash the zucchini and slice it very thinly. In a bowl, toss the zucchini slices with olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until evenly coated.
  • Place the slices in a single layer on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 1.5-2 hours, or until the slices are completely dried and crispy. Flip the slices halfway through the baking time for even drying.
  • Let the zucchini flakes cool completely, then store in an airtight container. Enjoy as a healthy snack or as a crunchy topping for salads and soups.

Nutritional Benefits:

  • Zucchini is low in calories and rich in vitamins A and C, potassium, and antioxidants. The olive oil used in the recipe adds a dose of healthy fats, while garlic powder and black pepper provide flavor and have anti-inflammatory properties. These flakes are a great way to enjoy a crunchy snack without the guilt and can also add texture to salads and soups.
