Broccoli Tikki

Broccoli Tikki is a delightful and nutritious Indian-style patty made from finely chopped broccoli, mashed potatoes, and aromatic spices. These tikkis are crispy on the outside, with a soft and flavorful interior, making them a perfect snack, appetizer, or side dish.

For a Serving Size of Two:

Ingredients:

  • 100 grams finely chopped or grated broccoli
  • 60 grams mashed boiled potatoes
  • 20 grams finely chopped onions
  • 10 grams finely chopped green chili
  • 10 grams grated ginger
  • 15 grams chopped fresh coriander leaves
  • 20 grams chickpea flour (besan)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 teaspoons oil

Procedure:

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the finely chopped or grated broccoli, mashed potatoes, chopped onions, green chili, grated ginger, and chopped coriander leaves.
  • Add chickpea flour, cumin seeds, garam masala, red chili powder, and salt to the mixture. Mix everything well to form a dough-like consistency.
  • Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape each portion into small, round tikkis (patties).
  • Heat a non-stick pan or tawa over medium heat and lightly grease it with oil.
  • Place the tikkis on the pan and cook them on both sides until they are golden brown and crispy.
  • Serve the Broccoli Tikkis hot with chutney or yogurt.
