Papad Pizza

Papad Pizza is a creative and crunchy twist on traditional pizza, offering a fusion of Indian and Italian flavors. Crispy papads are topped with a tangy tomato sauce, a colorful array of vegetables, crumbled feta cheese, and aromatic spices, then microwaved just until the cheese melts, creating a deliciously quick and easy snack.

For a Serving Size of Two:

Ingredients:

  • 4 large papads (urad dal or moong dal variety)
  • 50 grams finely chopped onions
  • 50 grams finely chopped tomatoes
  • 50 grams finely chopped bell peppers (red, yellow, green)
  • 20 grams finely chopped olives
  • 50 grams crumbled feta cheese
  • 1-2 tablespoons tomato sauce (prepared at home)
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes
  • Fresh basil leaves or coriander leaves for garnish
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil for drizzling

Procedure:

  • Lightly roast the papads on an open flame or microwave until they are crisp but not overdone. Set them aside on a flat surface.
  • On each roasted papad, spread a thin layer of pizza sauce or tomato ketchup.
  • Evenly distribute the chopped onions, tomatoes, bell peppers, and olives over the sauce layer on each papad.
  • Sprinkle the crumbled cheese over the toppings. Add a pinch of dried oregano and chili flakes on top..
  • Microwave the prepared papads for 1-2 minutes or until the cheese melts.
  • Remove the papad pizzas from the microwave. Garnish with fresh basil or coriander leaves and drizzle a little olive oil on top.
  • Serve the papad pizzas immediately as a quick and crunchy snack.
