The Tangy Tonic

The Tangy Tonic is a revitalizing and zesty beverage that combines the bright flavors of fresh lemon juice with the warming spices of turmeric and ginger. It’s a refreshing drink that can be enjoyed chilled or at room temperature, making it perfect for any time of the day.

For a Serving Size of Two:

Ingredients:

  • 240 ml water
  • 120 ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon slices and mint leaves for garnish

Procedure:

 

  • Squeeze the juice from fresh lemons into a measuring cup, straining out any seeds and pulp.
  • In a medium bowl or pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice, ground turmeric, ground ginger, and black pepper.
  • Add the water to the mixture and stir well until the honey or maple syrup is fully dissolved and all ingredients are combined.
  • If you prefer a cold drink, refrigerate the mixture for about 30 minutes. Alternatively, serve over ice cubes.
  • Pour the tangy tonic into glasses. Garnish with lemon slices and mint leaves if desired.
