Make Way for Healthy Christmas with Top 5 Guilt-Free Desserts

Christmas is all about sweets, candies, cakes and chocolates that can further hamper your health while adding up to your weight. Binging on such desserts during festivities fill you up with empty calories while leading to holiday weight. However, small efforts and swapping some of the ingredients in your kitchen can save you from further health complications. Today, we bring you guilt-free dessert ideas that can easily make way for a health-friendly Christmas eve.

  • Pumpkin chocolate avocado mousse: This fancy and super attractive home-made pumpkin avocado mousse will satisfy your sweet cravings like nothing else. This recipe is the perfect mixture of creamy consistency, luscious taste and plenty of nutrients. The perfect punch of antioxidants and heart-healthy fats in pumpkin and avocado can benefit your health in thousands of ways. To make this recipe, all you need is cocoa powder, dates, 1 cup pumpkin puree, 2 ripe avocados, pumpkin pie spice, and almond milk. Combine all the ingredients in a food processor until smooth and it’s done. Serve and enjoy!
  • Whole wheat plum cake: Plum cakes are the zest of Christmas! But what about twisting it by swapping some of its ingredients? This guilt-free Christmas plum cake contains whole wheat flour, jaggery instead of sugar and lots of nuts that can easily satisfy your cravings without hampering your health. All you have to do is melt the jaggery first. Now, take the whole wheat flour, baking soda, and an egg and mix together. Now, pour in the jaggery mixture and mix everything together. Bake the cake for about 30-40 minutes in a 160-degree Celsius pre-heated oven.
  • Mini Choco fruit sticks: This is a very interesting, fancy and unique way to make fruits a part of festive treats. Just take the fruits you love-kiwi, strawberries, apricots, apples and insert a short wooden skewer in between the pieces of fruits. Now insert these in melted dark chocolates and refrigerate. Once done, serve and enjoy!
  • The strawberry Santa: This is one of the perfect and delicious desserts for the Christmas. All it requires the effort of assembling the ingredients so that it looks like Santa. The ingredients required for this recipe is strawberries, banana slices, Greek yoghurt, honey and black sesame seeds. Slice the strawberry and banana. On one side of the banana, spread Greek yoghurt and honey mixture. Assemble this banana with a strawberry slice. Now, add the yoghurt coated banana on top (yoghurt side down) and place the 2 sesame seeds on the edge of the banana slice so that it looks like eyes. Now, take the cut strawberry and position it on the top so that it looks like a hat.
  • Hazelnut hot cocoa: Hot cocoa is a typical drink during this season. Sipping the hot cocoa during winters not only makes us warm and cosy but it also relaxes us like nothing else. This is the healthiest version of hot cocoa which requires skim milk, hazelnuts, and cocoa powder and dates. All you have to do is grind dates and hazelnut into a smooth fine paste. Now, add the milk and cocoa and bring it to a boil and mix the paste in it. Mix everything together and it’s done.
