5 Healthy Weaning Food Ideas for Kids

Making the meals of toddlers healthy is full of hassles and is a tough job for many parents. A healthy and well-balanced diet for kids is extremely crucial but finishing every bit of their plate is a serious challenge for every parent. Many parents abide by the ninja techniques and always hide some healthy ingredients inside the food of their little ones which complicate and add tons of work while prepping the meals. But not anymore! Here are some healthy and easy to make food ideas that your loved one will definitely love and make your family’s mealtime happy and hassle-free.

  • Khichdi: Khichdi is a well-known Indian dish that is made up of lentils and rice and is extremely delicious and healthy food for both kids and adults. You can also add veggies in it to make it more nutritious and delicious. Adding different veggies in it helps in the better digestion while adding a unique and delicious flavour and zest to it. All you have to do is stir fry the veggies and cook it in the same way as you cook regular Khichdi.
  • Fruit stew: Fruit stew is one of the healthiest and easy ways to give your little ones the goodness of various fruits. Fruits are one of the great ways to get vital nutrients and this recipe will give a unique taste to the fruits. All you have to do is take fruits of your own choice like apples, mangoes, pineapple, banana, grapes, and pomegranate and peel them and boil them in some water until they become soft. Once it is done, strain all the water and add the stew in a bowl and sprinkle some herbs and spices over it to make it more delicious.
  • Vegetable soup: Everyone knows that kids don’t like veggies! But veggies offer a wide variety of various essential nutrients and to enrich the health of your kids with these essential nutrients- mixed vegetable soup is all you need! Take carrots, tomatoes, cauliflower or any other veggie that you like and boil it in some water. Once done, set it aside to cool and then blend it into a smooth puree. Now, take a pan and add some ghee in it and cook the blended puree in it for some minutes. Sprinkle black pepper and salt and serve hot!
  • Fruity parfait: Not only it looks fancy but it is healthy and delicious too. This recipe is made of fruits and yoghurt which offers a wide variety of various nutrients and contains live bacteria which is good for gut health. All you have to do is take a glass and add a layer of curd/yoghurt in it, then add some chopped fruits over it. Repeat the same process once again. Sprinkle some chopped nuts and fruit slices on the top and it’s done.
  • Porridge: Vegetable porridge is soft, easy to make and a satisfying meal that can keep your kid feel fuller for a longer period of time while enriching them with quint-essential nutrients. All you have to do is chop some veggies and stir-fry it and cook your porridge in a regular way. Sprinkle some chopped coriander leaves and relish the delicious taste with ample benefits.
