Nutty Oats Halwa

Nutty Oats Halwa is a warm, comforting dessert made with roasted oats, mashed banana, and almond milk, giving it a naturally sweet and creamy texture. Enhanced with the richness of ghee, cardamom, and a mix of crunchy almonds and cashews, this halwa offers a delightful balance of flavors. The addition of raisins adds a burst of sweetness, making it a perfect treat for any time of the day.

For a Serving Size of Two:

Ingredients:

  • 60 grams rolled oats
  • 10 grams finely chopped almonds
  • 10 grams finely chopped cashews
  • 1 tablespoon ghee
  • 1 small mashed ripe banana
  • 200 ml milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 1 tablespoon raisins

Procedure:

 

  • Heat 1/2 tablespoon of ghee in a pan over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped almonds and cashews, and sauté until they turn golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same pan, add the oats and roast them until they become slightly golden and aromatic. Set aside.
  • In the same pan, add the remaining 1/2 tablespoon of ghee. Add the mashed banana and sauté for a minute until it softens and blends with the ghee.
  • Add the roasted oats and mix well. Gradually pour in the almond milk, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
  • Cook on medium heat, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens to a halwa-like consistency.
  • Add the cardamom powder and the roasted nuts. Stir well. Once the halwa reaches the desired consistency, turn off the heat.
  • Garnish with raisins, if using, and serve warm.
