Churra Mattar is a flattened rice ‘ poha and peas’ recipe. It’s a traditional Uttar Pradesh Recipe.

Ingredients
- ½ Cup Poha
- ¼ Cup Fresh Peas
- 1 Tsp. Oil
- ½ Tsp. Cumin Seeds
- 1 Green Chilli – chopped
- ½ Tsp. Grated Ginger
- ¼ Cup Water
- ¼ Tsp. Garam Masala
- 1 Tsp. Lemon Juice
- 4-5 Cashew Nuts
- Pinch of Asafoetida
Ingredients
- ½ Cup Poha
- ¼ Cup Fresh Peas
- 1 Tsp. Oil
- ½ Tsp. Cumin Seeds
- 1 Green Chilli – chopped
- ½ Tsp. Grated Ginger
- ¼ Cup Water
- ¼ Tsp. Garam Masala
- 1 Tsp. Lemon Juice
- 4-5 Cashew Nuts
- Pinch of Asafoetida
Method
- Heat a pan. Add oil, and cashews and roast them till they turn golden.
- Now remove cashew and add cumin seeds, chilies, and ginger. Sautee them well
- Add green peas and mix them well. Add water for cooking green peas.
- Till then wash Poha gently.
- When peas are cooked, add black pepper, garam masala, and a pinch of asafoetida. Mix them well.
- Mix Poha with the mixture gently. Cover the pan and cook on a flowing flame for 2 minutes.
- Switch off the flame and add lemon juice and mix the poha well.
- Garnish Poha with cashews.
