Refreshing Drinks your kids will love this summer

As the temperatures are rising, your child gets more prone to dehydration. During the dry months of summer, due to excessive sweating and heat, children lose more water and cannot keep up with their daily requirement of fluids. As a parent, worrying is natural…but, there’s a lot that you can do to avoid dehydration in your kids. Since children miss the obvious signs of dehydration like lack of concentration, headache, dry lips etc, you must keep a check on the amount of water your child is taking. Make sure your child carries a water bottle everywhere he or she goes- whether it’s school or the playground. You must also inculcate healthy habits in your child and teach them the importance of having water throughout the day. And most importantly, make hydration fun for your child. If they are not amused with the taste(or the lack of it) of water, then here are some refreshing and hydrating drinks that will help keep up the fluid and electrolyte level in your child.

Try these flavored summers drinks to keep your kids hydrated
Tropical Smoothies

Packed with the goodness of tropical fruits, a fruity smoothie is the perfect fix for the scorching heat. You can make it interesting by using a mixture of papaya with mango chunks or strawberries with blueberries or berries with banana or pineapple with peaches and oranges with cranberry. Add fresh yoghurt for improved immune system and good gut health.

Refreshing Aam Panna

A refreshing desi drink, Aam Panna is great in the summer months which can be prepared quickly using just some sugar, assorted spices & ripe raw mangoes. Its slightly sour and sweet taste not only captivates your child’s taste buds but also satisfies thirst. Apart from that, it prevents the loss of sodium chloride and iron from the body during summers and keeps the body hydrated.

Minty Jaljeera

After a hot day of running and playing around, your children may ask for something chilled yet flavored. Here’s a great option that’s tasty and different to have! A fruity cooler or fresh lemonade is always a hit with kids during summers. If your child is fussy when it comes to drinking plain water, you can make them a tasty lemonade or a fruity cooler using various fruits and herbs such as peaches with mint leaves, pineapple with grapes, oranges with lemon and make their beverages much more appealing to have.
