We all involve ourselves in scrolling, searching and finding the new information that we often forget about the basics. And sometimes, despite all the new information, we often don’t get the results which we aim for! Putting your health in the backseat in such harsh and challenging times is not a solution. Not getting proper nourishment can do more harm than just making you weak and lowering your energy. Consuming healthy and nutritious food can easily take you away from various health ailments while decreasing the risk of anxiety and stress. So, let’s focus on the basics and take a pledge to start investing in your health to increase your productivity while keeping the risks of diseases at bay. Here are some basic and easy to follow tips that you should definitely abide by in order to get a boost in your overall health and well-being. 

  • Breakfast is crucial: Due to loads of work, we often begin our day on a hectic note and forget to consume breakfast which is the most vital meal of the day. Skipping breakfast can increase your cravings of junkies and can affect your health like nothing else. Starting your day rightly with the healthy breakfast fuels up your energy levels to keep you all energetic and enthusiastic throughout the day. If you don’t have much time then you consume oatmeals, smoothies, avocado/egg sandwich, chia pudding bowl and vegetable poha.
  • Protein is a pre-requisite: Protein is extremely vital for the body and we often forget to consume the optimum quantities of this macronutrient. Deficiency of protein can hamper your overall health while affecting your hair and skin health as well. Protein helps in building and strengthening your muscle and helps in reducing your weight while dropping your hunger pangs. Get the good quality protein from various food sources like eggs, lean meat, chickpeas, kidney beans, black beans, low-fat dairy products and nuts and seeds.
  • Health Shots: Certain ingredients that are available in your kitchen are extremely nutritious and can provide you with optimum quantities of antioxidants while enhancing your immunity and decreasing the risk of various diseases. You can try amla shot, ginger and lemon shots, turmeric, black pepper and lemon shots. All you have to do is just boil these herbs and spices in water and it’s ready to sip.
  • Rainbow Plate: Consuming 5-6 servings of colourful fruits and vegetables regularly is another basic essential that can enhance your overall health and well-being. Fruits and veggies are packed with plenty of essential vitamins, antioxidants, phytonutrients, and fibre that can benefit your overall health while ensuring the smooth functioning of the body. You can consume these in raw form or you can also blend your fruits and veggies and consume it in the form of smoothies. Another delicious way of consuming veggies is in the form of salad, soups or stews.
