Tamarind rice

Tamarind rice is a heart-warming dish made with delectable combination of spices and is flavoured with tamarind. It is a perfect dish to be tried upon this season is the easiest lunch to be prepared or carried off with you at work.

  • 20 grams cooked rice
  • 3-4 Garlic cloves
  • 10 grams tamarind
  • 1inch cinnamon stick
  • 20 grams tomatoes
  • 20 grams onion
  • 2-3 green chillies
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3-4 curry leaves
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil


  • In a pan take tamarind and combine it with water. Cook for 1-2 minutes and allow it to cool.
  • Now pass it through the sieve or strainer to get the pulp and keep it aside.
  • Take another pan, heat oil and add all the ingredients. Then add tamarind paste and cook for few seconds.
  • Now add steamed rice, stir well cook it for few more minutes.
  • Serve hot.
