Many types of researches are conducted daily and many are improvised and regularly updated on, so therefore many times we don’t catch up with all the information that is provided to us, some facts might come off to be very shocking and new to a person while some may already know of it and therefore here are some facts that you probably didn’t know about-
1- Coffee alleviates mental stress and depressing moods – Even though caffeine is known more for its harmful effects more than its beneficial effects, the substantial effects on the brain are quite helpful. It increased brain activity and lowers the risk of depression; increased blood sugar levels also make the body more alert and keeps suicidal tendencies at bay.
2- Getting inspired while walking – A study was conducted by Stanford on the benefits of walking and the resulted in showing that walking alone improved people’s creative output by about sixty percent so the next time you feel like you aren’t getting good ideas and are in a slump, walking might just be the answer for you.
3- Body Posture- We have always been told to keep our backs straight and we know the obvious benefit of that, which is good backbone strength and fewer chances of cervical pain but what we don’t know is that the position of sitting upright triggers good blood flow by the autonomic nervous system of the body, which in turn makes you feel more confident and boosts your self-esteem and effectively brightens up your mood.
4- Green Apple is a friend of Claustrophobics- A research was conducted by the Smell and Taste Treatment Research Foundation where they found out that smelling a green apple can release stress from closed and confined spaces. It can prevent migraines and headaches and the scent is a good stress reliever so why not sniff an apple the next time.
5- Ab exercises like Sit-ups do not give you abs or a flat stomach- It has been seen many times that people go for Ab exercises like sit-ups or crunches thinking that it will help them achieve their dream abs, but these exercises only work your abs, not the core muscles, research even mentioned that doing six weeks of abdominal exercises didn’t affect the abdominal fat at all.
6- Counterproductivity of hot drinks- Mostly when you feel hot, we tend to go for colder drinks but according to conducted research, when the temperature of the drink is higher than your body temperature, it triggers the sweat response in the body, to compensate for the increased temperature, therefore even if you initially feel hotter the compensation with the body will cool down quickly making you feel cooler.
Many myths surround us and therefore we should always be fully aware of the correct information out there and practise safer and healthier methods of living.
