5 Snacks Ideas for Weight Gain

If your goal is to gain weight instead of lose it, eating healthy snacks is one way to go. But gaining weight that doesn’t mean you can have that chips packet or your favourite brownies. You need to eat keeping in mind high calories food, healthy fats, filling complex carbohydrates, and plenty of protein-rich foods.

Here are some snacks ideas for you when you are on weight gaining diet and do not want to indulge in unhealthy snacking habits:

  • Sabudana upma: This is a south Indian dish which is very healthy and easy to prepare. Along with Sabudana, roasted peanuts, potato, coconut pieces, Indian spices, and condiments are added. Also, protein-rich foods help gain weight easily and build up muscles. Now, make dough from multi-grain flour and a few flaxseeds to add healthy fats. Bake until you get a golden brown colour and serve these crackers with chickpea masala. Enjoy!
  • Baked fish chips with avocado dip: This healthy yet tasty version of baked fish chips will be a perfect snack for weight gaining since it is high in omega-3 fats. Use your favourite fish such as salmon or cod and coat in a light, crispy batter of coconut milk, bread crumbs, chopped almonds and herbs of your choice and bake to golden perfection. Now, mix mashed avocado, garlic powder, salt, yogurt, lime juice and your dip is ready! This avocado dip is ultra-creamy, with a boost of tang and protein and some friendly probiotics from the yogurt. The flavour is tangy, salty, and super satisfying.
  • Seedlicious Sweet potato salad: Sweet potato is a great way to gain weight as they are a rich source of carbohydrates and help you to add calories to your diet. Add spinach or kale to make it nutrient-dense. You can top your salad with some nuts like almonds or walnuts or flaxseeds to add on those healthy fats and antioxidants.
