Metabolism is the way through which the body burns calories in order to make you fit and fine. Many people keep a check on their metabolism to cut down those excess pounds and they often follow the fictions to fasten their metabolism.  We bring you some of the most common myths that circle around the metabolism.   • Fiction 1: Skipping meals increases your metabolism

Skipping meals makes you hungrier and lowers down your metabolic rate which further slows down the process of losing weight. Always remember that consuming regular meals is the key to increase metabolism. Skipping meals can make you starve and it also makes your body to not function properly. Another disadvantage of skipping meals is- it can lead to weight gain by making you overeat at your next meal. It can also lead to nutrition deficiency in the body in the long run.

  • Fiction 2: Skipping breakfast will help you lose weight

Breakfast is considered as one of the vital meals of the day. It does not make you satiated throughout the day but also give a kick-start to your metabolism and helps in healthy weight loss. Skipping breakfast can away from your energy levels and even make you crave for more food which leads you to gain weight. If you are on the way of losing weight then you should definitely add breakfast in your regime and ensure to never skip it. You can add high fibre foods like smoothies, fruits and oatmeals in your breakfast.

  • Fiction 3: Late Night snacking slows down metabolism

When it comes to metabolism, timings really don’t matter! You should take care of your calories and it is the key for high metabolism. Night meals should be lighter with minimum calories so that the food doesn’t stock up and it does not lead to weight gain. You can add a vegetable salad with a pinch of seeds, home-made soups and stir fry or baked vegetables in your dinner menu for fast metabolism.
