A wholesome diet has been scientifically proven to provide health benefits such as reducing the risk of chronic diseases, obesity and keeping your body healthy overall. But it is important to note that, changing your diet upside down completely, can make you want to go back to square one sooner than you can fathom. So, take small and significant steps towards your betterment. Here are some easy peasy tips and tricks that will help you to make your diet wholesome without much hassles. 

 

 

  • HYDRATION IS THE GOLDEN RULE.

 

Half an hour before your meals, drink one-two glasses of water. This would help you decrease your craving and fill your stomach up quickly. Studies show that drinking before meals reduces appetite and calorie intake. It also leads to weight loss and maintenance. Drinking water keeps you hydrated throughout the day and helps you clear all your blemishes and gives you radiant skin. 

 

 

  • KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR PORTION SIZE:

 

Do not fill your plate with extra food. It makes you consume more than your body requires. Trick your brain by using a smaller plate. If you eat in a smaller plate it will make your brain think that you are eating more, making yourself less likely to overeat. You can easily make your diet healthier by choosing whole grain instead of a refined one. Whole grains have a variety of health benefits including, controlling blood sugar levels, prevention from heart diseases and reducing the risk of diabetes. They are also proven to be good sources of fibre, Vitamin-B, zinc, iron etc. Whole-grains like oats, whole-wheat flour, and brown rice have benefits that are unbeatable. They help you reduce those extra kilos and save you from refineries.

 

 

  • BAKE OR ROAST INSTEAD OF GRILLING OR FRYING:

 

The way you prepare food is also an important thing to consider for a healthy diet. Grilling and frying lead to the formation of toxic components which are harmful to our body to function. Baking, simmering or roasting are healthier methods of cooking, as it consumes fewer fats and there is no formation of toxic compounds.

 

 

  • AVOID DISTRACTIONS WHILE HAVING FOOD:

 

A habit of watching TV or using cell phones or any other electronic device while having food can do more harm than you can fathom.
