 Many people believe that carbs are bad for health. But let us tell you one thing that carbohydrates are one of those essential nutrients that helps your body to function properly. It not only required for optimum growth but a good source of carbs fuel you and makes you feel fuller while reducing the risks of various diseases. Various recent fad diets have created a bad status of carbs but your body needs a proper amount of carbs for the smooth functioning.  

Carbs are divided into two types- good carbs and bad carbs. Healthy foods like whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds, fruits, vegetables are enriched in good carbohydrates and consumption of such foods can become a steady source of energy. While the processed and refined foods are rich in bad carbs which increase the risks of various diseases in the body. 

It’s time to bid adieu to the bad carbohydrates in order to make yourself hale and hearty. Here are some of the carb monsters that can disturb your health like nothing else:

The white items: The white carb is one of the most disturbing to health. White and processed products like white bread, white pasta and white buns are made up of refined flour (maida) that is not good for health and can cause damage to the body. These types of foods are filled with negative calories and even lead you to weight gain. Excessive and regular consumption of such foods can raise the blood sugar levels while increasing the risk of various diseases like heart diseases, diabetes and many others. 

The sugary drinks: Sugary packaged drinks are filled with endless sugars and can cause destruction to health. Adding drinks like sodas, energy drinks, soft drinks, lemonades, and processed fruit juices in your diet can give you no energy but instead, it gives a great dose of unhealthy carbs. These beverages can pack pounds in your body while making you sick and tired. Try to use plain and home-made infused water whenever you feel thirsty. 

The packaged and processed cereals: Yes! Your parents are right when they told you to not to eat processed and packaged food. These ready-to-make foods are filled with sugars, unhealthy carbs and can do nothing good for your health. It can easily raise your cholesterol levels while cutting back your levels of energy. These foods can fill you with negative calories which further make you eat more and weight gain. 

The tempting sweetmeats: We know that you cannot say no to those yummy looking cakes, brownies, and muffins. But do you even know what they can do your health? These foods are packed with sugars and are way too unpleasant for your health. Not only it gives you empty calories but it also takes you closer to various diseases like obesity, high blood sugar levels, high cholesterol levels and many others. So, try baking a cake at home with healthy ingredients like whole wheat, dates and figs instead of buying it from the market.
