The Importance of Saving Energy Resources due to Global Warming

Every other year is becoming more and more challenging in summer as days are hotter with each passing year. Ever wondered what could be the reason behind this? Global warming, of course!
Currently, the primary energy sources in India are fossil fuels like oil, coal, and natural gas. However, fossil fuels are non-renewable resources that are created deep down within the Earth’s surface over millions of years and we are using them so fast that they will eventually become exhausted.
What’s more, burning fossil fuel leads to carbon dioxide emissions that contribute to global warming. Furthermore, burning coal causes acid rain, smog, and soot. It even creates toxic air emissions, which are linked to congenital disabilities, cancer, and other severe health-related hazards.
Let’s discuss the importance of saving energy resources in detail:
- Heal the environment: When you limit the use of energy resources, you lower your impact on the environment. The longer we go without making any significant changes; it poses the greater threat of global warming and climate change to our daily lives.
- When we burn fossil fuels, they create a huge amount of greenhouse gas emissions. These gasses, which include carbon dioxide, build up faster than the atmosphere can absorb them which prevent Earth from being able to maintain a stable temperature properly. The planet’s rising temperatures is what we call global warming! We observe these side effects through events such as changes in sea level, cold snaps, sudden droughts, hurricanes, increasing melted glaciers, and unexpected wildfires. Fortunately, we can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by reducing our use of energy resources.
- Prevent the extinction of fossil fuels: It’s evident that we will run out of fossil fuels at some point for our future generations even though we rely so much on them as our primary energy source. So, we must begin limiting our energy consumption right away. The slower we use these non-renewable resources, the more time we have to develop alternative energy solutions before exhausting our fossil fuels completely.
- Saves money, yes! Our fossil fuels continue to diminish, so eventually, they will be less readily available. Drilling and mining will become very difficult and, in turn, become more expensive. This increases consumer costs as well. We as consumers can reduce our fossil fuel dependence by using less energy and continuing to look for new alternative ways to improve our energy sustainability options, such as solar, wind, and hydroelectric power. The more we stick to our renewable energy sources, the more we can prolong the existence of fossil fuels and slow down the speed of fossil fuel price increases.
- Another way that energy conservation can help you save money is through your most of the utility bills. The more steps you take towards saving energy, the more your electricity bill, natural gas bill, and even your water bill will reflect those changes and protect the environment too.
Over to you:
Global warming has been a huge impact in depleting our energy resources with time. It’s high time to alert people in making wise choices and save the environment by switching to more renewable resources. You can start to see significant changes as your efforts begin to add up.
