(PETA) People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals urge Amul to switch to producing vegan milk. The managing director of PETA writes to Amul in a letter that says, due to the high demand for vegan food and milk, the dairy cooperative society can get huge benefits. The boom in the demand for vegan food and milk markets can serve as a great opportunity to gain numerous benefits.
“We would again like to encourage Amul to benefit from the booming vegan food and milk market, instead of wasting resources trying to fight the demand for plant-based products that are only growing. Other companies are responding to market changes, and Amul can too,” PETA India said.
A vegan diet is often considered health-conscious. Many choose veganism to maintain a healthy weight. A vegan diet is deprived of animal-based products and largely focuses on the consumption of plant-based products. It can provide multiple health benefits including weight loss. This diet is termed to benefit kidney health, heart health and can also help control blood sugar levels. Right from keeping your cholesterol down to giving you lose pounds- vegan diets have plenty of advantages on human health.
Vegan milk has gained the attraction of health enthusiasts in recent years. From the time these new milks have entered the dairy lanes, we often forget about the cow milk and keep on adding these healthy specialized pints of milk to our milk shelves. Milk substitutes are one of the great options if you’re trying to lose weight, have allergies to animal products, limiting your calories without compromising on the nutritional profile. The most loved plant milk includes almond milk, soy milk, coconut milk and oat milk. There are different varieties of plant milk available in the market and you can choose as per your taste and nutritional requirements.
Here are some significant benefits of consuming plant-based milk:
- Filled with essential vitamins and minerals
- Extremely low in fat
- Contain very little cholesterol
- A healthy combination of mono- and polyunsaturated fats
- Quite good for people with a slow digestive system

The motto of PETA India is, ‘animals are not ours to eat.’ A lot of people are shifting to a vegan diet for the sake of the environment. While vegan milk and products are a great way to boost your overall health and well-being, make sure that you plan your diet well to get an optimum dose of every nutrient while following a vegan diet.
