Ministry Of Health Is Fully Committed To Ensure Safety Of Our Healthcare & Frontline Workers As It Encourages Workers To Take ” Precaution Dosages” Of Covid -19 Vaccines

Coronavirus has left us all miserable as many have lost someone and all we can do is follow COVID protocols to prevent ourselves from this deadly virus.

Almost everyone has gotten themselves fully vaccinated, but really have we? The government has been urging the public to get vaccinated and those immunized to go for booster doses for the health safety of everyone.

The booster dose:

After administering almost 152 crores of cumulative Covid-19 vaccine shots, Government of India has already launched Precaution dose AKA Booster dose or 3rd dose for Frontline workers(FLWs), Health care workers (HCWs) and senior citizens 60 years of age or above with comorbidities from 10th January, 2022, amidst Omicron (variant of COVID-19) surge.

This will strengthen the country’s healthcare system by providing a protective shield to FLWs, HCWs and vulnerable populations from Covid-19 and its variant as the above category of people are more prone to infection and mortality.

Individuals aged 60 with comorbidities can also get a jab of precaution dose without having to show any kind of certificate from a doctor.

There would be no mix-and-match of vaccines for the booster dose i.e. if you’ve been vaccinated with Covishield then you shall be given the booster dose of the same kind.

According to guidelines issued by the Union Health Ministry, there shall be a gap of nine months between the date of administration of the second dose and precaution dose.

Although CoWIN will send reminder messages to all those eligible for this dose, you can also get an appointment for precaution dose on the CoWIN portal which has already begun since 10th of January 2022.

However, there is also the option of an onsite appointment thus making it easier for people who don’t know about technology that much.

Government is also taking care of the medical personnel in the Army which works tirelessly to provide medical services to the Army.

Reminder messages have been sent to more than 10 million health and frontline workers thus encouraging them to come forward and get themselves a jab of precaution.

Current statistics:

As per Ministry of Health till yesterday India’s cumulative vaccination coverage crosses 157.91 crore.
More than 68 lakh vaccine doses have been administered.

Over to you

Government can only insist us to get a jab of booster dose but being a responsible citizen it is our duty to make an appointment for precaution which is for our own good.
Help the government, help you fight omicron as it is vital for our health and a crucial step to end the pandemic.
