Health Risks Associated with Having Multiple Sex Partners

It is really important to know something before you begin with it. Sex is a very sensitive aspect of one’s life which should be considered of utmost importance unlike today, many people have taken it lightly. These days people are involved with multiple partners for sex which causes high chances of health risks and can affect a person physically and mentally. There are some major health risks associated with having multiple sex partners, some of them are as follows:

Bacterial Vaginosis: When women start to have sex with multiple partners, the vagina gets surrounded by too much of certain bacteria, which changes the normal balance of bacteria in the vagina

Human Immuno Deficiency Virus/ Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome (HIV/AIDS): Having multiple sex partners has a higher risk of HIV through unprotected sex. It is common to get HIV if you have multiple sex partners because one of them might have it and through sex, it will be transmitted to you. To avoid having HIV, one should always use protection before proceeding and also avoid having multiple sex partners.

STDs: Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are diseases that are passed from one person to another through unprotected sex and include sexual dysfunction and diseases like chlamydia, gonorrhoea, syphilis and trichomoniasis. STD’s can be avoided by using safe sex practices while having sex.

Cancers: Having multiple sex partners can cause types of cancers mainly, cervical and prostate cancer in women and men.

Cervical Cancer: This is the type of cancer which starts in the cervix (lower part of the womb) of women, cervical cancer happens mostly because of a sexually transmitted infection known as Human papillomavirus (HPV)

Prostate Cancer: This is the form of cancer that begins in the prostate of men. This starts when the cells in the prostate gland starts to grow out of control. Studies show that males having more than 7 sexual partners are twice as likely to have prostate cancer.

A person needs to limit the number of sexual partners and you need to be utmost cautious about the person they are about to have sex with. One of the main reasons behind having STD’s and HIV is the knowledge that people lack these days. Using protection and considering choices can help people to stay safe by any kind of sexual diseases.
