4 At-Home Exercises you can do without equipment

We are all aware of how important it is to exercise and keep your body in motion. Exercising not only helps you lose weight and maintain a good physique but it also elevates your energy levels and combats several diseases. Starting your day with a 30 min workout can lift up your mood and make you better prepared for the entire day. Exercise and physical activities boost your health and keep you in good shape. It is even believed that exercising can assist in healing mild or moderate depression. When you exercise, it increases blood flow in the brain and also releases an antidepressant known as endorphin which enhances the sense of well-being. Exercising has a lot of psychological benefits, one being that it helps you cope with your depression or anxiety in a healthy manner.

While we understand how exercising can benefit us, we hardly take any initiative to do the same. We don’t feel motivated enough to go out even for a walk. Many of us even sign up for gym subscriptions but never really show up. So how do I encourage myself to exercise? One reason why we don’t feel like exercising is that it either requires us to drive to the gym or go out to the park for a run and we are too comfortable in our homes to do any of this. But what if exercising in our luxurious houses was a solution? Here are 4 exercises that you can practice doing in your homes without any equipment:

  • PUSH-UPS: Start by doing 10-20 reps each day. Push-ups improve heart health, strengthen your core and help you gain strength. It also helps in improving your body posture and creates stability. While doing push-ups, ensure that your hands are in line with the shoulder. You can add effectiveness to the push up by doing mountain climbers.

  • LUNGES: It helps you develop lower body strength. By doing lunges, you exercise your hips, glutes, quads, and hamstrings. In addition to this, lunges improve your core and lower back balance. Even though lunges give you a hard time, they are still worth the pain. Including them in your workout regime can make your body more flexible.

  • BURPEE: It is a full-body exercise and benefits your arm, chest, back, glutes, core, and legs. Along with this it strikes up your metabolism and helps you in burning calories. There is a tendency to skip certain steps in order to make the exercise easy. Avoid making this mistake and push yourself to make the most out of the exercise.

  • JUMPING JACKS: These are cardiovascular exercises but also exercise your muscles. Doing jumping jacks can help you lose belly fat. Moreover, it increases your muscular strength and improves coordination between your limbs and brain. It keeps your heart healthy and relieves stress. Jumping jack is the most efficient warm up exercise and tones your muscles.
