Prime Minister Narendra Modi who was in Tamil Nadu for an informal summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping was seen cleaning up a Mamallapuram beach during his morning walk on Saturday Morning. He was seen picking up plastic litter and other waste from the surroundings of the beach.
Modi also posted a three minutes video in which he was walking barefoot on the sand and collected the plastic waste along with the other pile of garbage. With this new move, he has spread a loud and clear message to people to clean and conserve public places while maintaining these places as an asset of our nation. Moving forward, Modi was also seen with an acupressure roller in one hand and garbage in the other. Also, he tweets a lot of pictures while cleaning the beach.
“Plogging at a beach in Mamallapuram this morning. It lasted for over 30 minutes. Also handed over my ‘collection’ to Jeyaraj, who is a part of the hotel staff. Let us ensure our public places are clean and tidy! Let us also ensure we remain fit and healthy”, he tweeted.
For all of those who don’t know what plogging is, here is the literal meaning of this term: it is the combination of trash picking like plastic bottles while engaging in some sort of physical exercises like jogging or running.
Modi tweeted a lot about healthiness and cleanliness and from all of his tweets he wanted to tell us the importance of both. With his captions, he gave a concise message that both are an essential aspect of healthy living and it not only clean externally but also gives the refreshment internally. From his early morning walk and exercises along the scenic coast, he enlightened a point that it is everybody’s responsibility to keep themselves and their surroundings clean and hygienic.
Many people across the world have appreciated the PM and also tweeted honour and grateful words on his tweet. BJP president and Home Minister Amit Shah also said on this move " A true leader leads by example. We are grateful to PM Narendra Modi Ji for his untiring efforts towards cleanliness.”
This Independence Day, Modi asked the nation for the minimum use of plastic as he wants to make the country free from plastic. For this, he announced that soon he will be launching a campaign to make the country free from plastic. For a Swachh and Samruddha Bharat, the message is of key importance and should reach every part of India.
PM Modi has been always focussed about two things one is the fitness and the other is cleanliness. And the combination of both has been seen during his recent visit to Mamallapuram.
Cleanliness is another name for godliness. Physical and mental freshness can only come through a clean and hygienic surrounding. The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan launched in the year of 2014 was a great initiative taken by PM Modi and it completely justifies its motive in a sparkling and exact sense. Now, plastic-free India is going another major initiative that may lead the country towards the path of goodness.
