Jumping Jacks are one amongst many sweet remembrances from our childhood lanes. Now it’s time to cherish it again not by thinking or talking about it, but working the same way on it. Some people do it because they simply enjoy doing it but it is mainly for cardiovascular fitness which also gently improves your health.

Our heart works hard for us, beating up to 100,000 times per day. Exercise affects the functioning of your heart constructively. The evidence continue to roar louder and louder — physical activity can help you live longer. Anaerobic cardio exercise means you use oxygen to meet the energy demands and stimulate the heart muscles. The heart works to pump enough oxygenated blood and bring back the carbon dioxide loaded blood from the cells. The steady and slow exercise keeps your heart healthy by providing a good workout to it.

Exercising too hard is not a good idea because overexertion puts your heart at many risks and also pushes the body towards unnecessary energy loss. A person should always know the pace at which he/she feels most comfortable.

There are many fringe benefits when you switch to exercise and make it a part of your daily life. Feeling happier, easy on weight loss, strengthening bones and muscles, better skin and brain health and memory boost, and improved sleep quality are always in permanent companionship with exercise.

Before you commence any new exercise plan, talk with your doctor or the physiotherapist about the best way to incorporate the cardiovascular activity in your lifestyle. This will help you to have a professionally established plan that safely and gradually increases your stamina for cardiovascular activities and set the baselines for blood pressure, resting heart rate and cholesterol. This all will help you track your success with a healthy heart on.

What role do you have to play?

Avoid stress, anxiety or any such state which potentially shouts to rob off your peace or happy mood. Begin your day with light music then exercise to have a vitality to enjoy a hearty day. All that you need to do is that strike the habit at least for #15 days that understand your inner being more than your lazy options.

Nutritional Benefits

Beetroot provides you with fibre, iron, potassium, folate and Vitamin C which is good for skin and further act as an antioxidant. It can improve exercise performance, lower blood pressure and serve as a low calorie food. It can also improve digestion and help in weight management. Thyme is a Mediterranean herb and has been traditionally used to cure diarrhoea, stomach ache and sore throat.


2 small beets

Few sprigs of thyme

1 teaspoon olive oil

1 teaspoon lemon zest

Salt- as per taste

Calorie = 112 kcal
Protein = 2.8 grams
Carbohydrates = 14.8 grams
Fat = 4.7 grams
Recommended for- High Blood Pressure and Digestion
Course- Evening Snack


Cut beets into thin slices

Put them in a saucepan, with some water. Boil until tender

Next, light your charcoal or barbecue fire

Take a large piece of foil and lay the beets in them. Brush a little olive oil and top with thyme and lemon zest.

Fold the foil and twist the ends together. Punch small holes in the foil with the help of a knife or fork.

Leave it to cook for 15-20 minutes.

Once cooked, allow it to cool and then discard the charred skin.

Toss with salt and pepper, and serve.
