The sedentary lifestyle has taken a heavy toll on human health. Naturally, we all were made to move than to sit at a place whole day, but the human dictations over the nature has changed life.

Exercise has become an imperative part, for which you have to make space in your daily life. According to the World Health Organization recommendation, each adult should at least go for 150 minutes of ‘moderate-intensity’ exercise – such as brisk walking, swimming or gentle cycling, per week or 75 minutes of vigorous activity such as running or some team sports like football.

Exercise sweeps across many health benefits for you, which touches healthy heart, weight control, strength of bones and muscles, improvement in sleep and sexual health, to name a few. If you are struggling to quit your smoking habits then exercise can ease your fight by reducing the craving and withdrawal symptoms.

I understand, that it’s difficult to manage a life in today’s era, where you are heavily loaded with too many worries and striking a perfect health is strenuous. So, that’s where exercise can be very helpful as it is great at bursting your stress out. Even a walk for 30 minutes is enough.

Regular exercise can help children and teens build strong bones and muscles which later in life, can also slow down the loss of bone density that dawns with dusking age.

Here I am not advocating for some specific moves and order of exercising, but want to convey that physical inactivity bears many negative health effects which can be negated by few simple movements which include a simple walk. You can also take your partner along with you for the evening walks, this will not only impart good health to both of you but also a new fragrance to your relationship.

What role do you have to play?

You need not to join a gym or hire a trainer but give up all those comforts which abort you to have proper movements. Give up, vehicles for covering short distances, and walk when you are over a phone. Do it for #15 days and you’ll observe positive vibes around you.

It can improve exercise performance, lower blood pressure and serve as a low calorie food. It can also improve digestion and help in weight management. Thyme is a Mediterranean herb and has been traditionally used to cure diarrhoea, stomach ache and sore throat.

Ingredients

2 small beets

Few sprigs of thyme

1 teaspoon olive oil

1 teaspoon lemon zest

Salt- as per taste

Calorie = 112 kcal
Protein = 2.8 grams
Carbohydrates = 14.8 grams
Fat = 4.7 grams
Recommended for- High Blood Pressure and Digestion
Course- Evening Snack

Method

Cut beets into thin slices

Put them in a saucepan, with some water. Boil until tender

Next, light your charcoal or barbecue fire

Take a large piece of foil and lay the beets in them. Brush a little olive oil and top with thyme and lemon zest.

Fold the foil and twist the ends together. Punch small holes in the foil with the help of a knife or fork.

Leave it to cook for 15-20 minutes.

Once cooked, allow it to cool and then discard the charred skin.

Toss with salt and pepper, and serve.
