Zingy Carrot Beet Bites

Zingy carrot beet bites will give you a spicy, tangy tinge at the time of blissful and bloomy spring season. So, lets count on to this zingy recipe which is inclusive of goodness of colourful and varied vegetables to give you a crispy and delicious flavour.

Nutritional Benefits:

Carrot is rich source of Vitamin A and fibre. Its consumption is linked to improved vision and decreased cholesterol levels. Beetroot provides you with fibre, iron, potassium, folate and Vitamin C which is good for skin and further act as an antioxidant. Cheese (paneer) is great source of protein,calcium and Vitamin B2 (riboflavin).

  • Carrot = 30 g
  • Beetroot =20 g
  • Onion =15 g
  • Cabbage =15 g
  • Paneer = 15 g
  • Bell peppers =20 g
  • Spring onion = 15 g
  • Bread Crumbs = 10 g
  • Olive Oil = 1 tspn


  • In a fresh bowl wash all the vegetables thoroughly with water.
  • Chop carrot, beetroot, cabbage and onion finely or grate them in a bowl.
  • Take another bowl crumble paneer and add all the veggies into it. Also add bread crumbs which will help in binding the mixture. Add salt as per taste.
  • Now take this mixture in small amount and make the desired shapes and keep them aside for a while.
  • Bake or air fry these bites until they turn crispy in texture.
  • Take a pan, add oil and allow it to heat. Sautee bell peppers and spring onions. Add the crispy bites in these Sautee vegetables.
  • Sprinkle some seasoning and herbs onto this. Your zingy carrot beet bites are ready. Serve hot.

Pinaca is a traditional Goan sweet dish. This dish is made by Goan rice, jaggery and plenty of coconut. Pinaca are usually made into sweet balls and can be consumed all year long. This simple sweet dish is easy to make yet high in nutrient value.

Nutritional value
Pinaca balls are high on nutrition as they contain jaggery, which is good source of iron, naturally occurring B vitamins, minerals like phosphorus, zinc, calcium and copper. Coconut contains lauric acid, which helps to increases good HDL cholesterol, also cytokinin’s present in coconut have showed anti-ageing, anti-carcinogenic effects.


40 grams Goan rice flour
¼ fresh coconut
1 tablespoon Jaggery
1 tablespoon desiccated grated coconut
Pinch of cardamom powder
Nuts (optional)
Coconut water (optional)

Calories- 217 kcal
Carbs- 28.6 grams
Protein- 1.9 grams
Fats- 10.3 grams

Course- Dessert


First take the Goan rice and dry roast it on a tawa or pan.

Cool the rice and later powder them in a grinder.

Now take jaggery, crush it and grind it along with coconut, also add pinch of cardamom powder. Grind them on a round grinding stone if possible, otherwise just use a grinder.

Take this mixture out and keep adding flour, a little at a time and just mix it well with your hands. Add coconut water if needed.

Mix well and form small balls out of this mixture.

Nuts can also be added to the mixture. (optional)
