Calories – 113-123 cal.
1- Apple, medium sized, cut into ½-inch pieces
1 ½ cups water
1 teaspoon coconut sugar
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ cup of oats, old fashioned rolled
¼ teaspoon salt
1 tbsp chopped walnuts (for garnishing)
In a sauce pan, combine the ingredients- diced apple, coconut sugar, cinnamon with ¼ cup of water over a medium heat
Sauté well until the apples are soft. Bring the mixture up to a simmer, lower the heat to low, cover, and then simmer it again for 5 minutes.
Add the oats, 1 ½ cups of water, and the salt, and simmer over low heat.
Keep stirring thoroughly for about 8-10 minutes. You can also choose to add more water or low fat milk if wish to have a soft texture.
Transfer the mixture to a bowl and serve it with chopped walnuts, and a pinch of cinnamon.
