No Bake Energy Bites

This no-bake energy bites recipe is a perfect healthy treat! These energy bites treat just take two minutes to set down your sweet cravings and are also gluten-free. These bite-sized treats are just what you need to have a burst of energy with a healthy dose of carbohydrate, fiber and nutrients. This recipe is perfect for your sweet tooth cravings and you can have it as a quick portable snack.

Nutritional Values:

Oats used in this recipe are amongst the world’s healthiest grains. In addition, oats may reduce your appetite as these are very filling thus it may help you eat fewer calories.

Next dry fruits are an excellent source of nutrition because dried fruits are simple fruits in which most of the water content removed but still retain its sweetness, flavor and nutrition. You can add walnuts to this recipe which is a great source of omega-3 fats and antioxidants. In addition, you can also add almonds, cashew nuts, dates or raisin which is a great source of vital nutrients as well.

Jaggery is made by evaporating water from sugar cane juice and it contains more nutrients than refined sugar because of molasses content. It improves digestive health and immune function. It also prevents anemia and aids in liver detoxification.


  • Dry roasted oats- 10 gm
  • Jaggery melted- 3 gm
  • Amond- 1 piece
  • Walnut -1 piece
  • Freshly grounded flax seeds- ½ tspn

Calories– 77 kcal
Protein– 2.1 gm
Carbohydrate– 9.9 gm
Fat– 3.2 gm


  • Place all the ingredients in a large mixing bowl i.e, roasted oats, melted jaggery, dried fruits and flax seeds. Stir to combine.
  • If the mixture is too wet add more oats and if the mixture is too dry add some melted jaggery. Resemble it to sticky dough that holds together when lightly squeezed.
  • Portion the dough and make balls of the desired size that is an approximately 1-inch diameter.
  • Ready to enjoy!

Pinaca is a traditional Goan sweet dish. This dish is made by Goan rice, jaggery and plenty of coconut. Pinaca are usually made into sweet balls and can be consumed all year long. This simple sweet dish is easy to make yet high in nutrient value.

Nutritional value
Pinaca balls are high on nutrition as they contain jaggery, which is good source of iron, naturally occurring B vitamins, minerals like phosphorus, zinc, calcium and copper. Coconut contains lauric acid, which helps to increases good HDL cholesterol, also cytokinin’s present in coconut have showed anti-ageing, anti-carcinogenic effects.


40 grams Goan rice flour
¼ fresh coconut
1 tablespoon Jaggery
1 tablespoon desiccated grated coconut
Pinch of cardamom powder
Nuts (optional)
Coconut water (optional)

Calories- 217 kcal
Carbs- 28.6 grams
Protein- 1.9 grams
Fats- 10.3 grams

Course- Dessert


First take the Goan rice and dry roast it on a tawa or pan.

Cool the rice and later powder them in a grinder.

Now take jaggery, crush it and grind it along with coconut, also add pinch of cardamom powder. Grind them on a round grinding stone if possible, otherwise just use a grinder.

Take this mixture out and keep adding flour, a little at a time and just mix it well with your hands. Add coconut water if needed.

Mix well and form small balls out of this mixture.

Nuts can also be added to the mixture. (optional)
