Mix Tangy Bhel

A well-timed and wisely planned evening snack can help you not to gain extra pounds. Sprouts are germinated seeds of legumes which are full of rejuvenating and health-promoting qualities and packed with protein and dietary fibre also super easy, healthy, and filling evening snacks.

Nutritional Benefits: There are numerous health benefits of sprouts as it contains adequate nutrients, including manganese, potassium, magnesium, folate, copper, zinc and various B vitamins and at the same time low in calories. High nutrient density, green gram sprouts are helpful in protecting against age-related diseases, including disease, cancer, diabetes and obesity as it is also full of antioxidants that contend free radicals and act as a remedy for many diseases.

Ingredients:

For murmura mix

  • 1 tbsp Puffed rice (murmura)
  • ¼ tsp cumin seed
  • 3-4 curry leaves
  • A pinch asafoetida
  • Pinch turmeric
  • Black salt to taste
  • ½ tsp oil

Other ingredients

  • 1 tbsp sprouted moong (green gram)
  • 1 tbsp deseeded chopped tomato
  • 1 tbsp chopped cucumber
  • 1 tbsp chopped apple
  • 1 tsp fresh pomegranate seed
  • 3-4 orange segments
  • 1 tbspn fresh chopped coriander
  • 1/2 lemon Juice

Calories: 112 Kcal.

Course: Evening snacks

Method:

  • Heat a little oil in a pan, add cumin seeds when they crackle; add turmeric powder, asafoetida and murmura.
  • Add black salt & mix well.
  • Let it cool completely.
  • Mix rest of the other ingredients and serve immediately.
